Russian Railways signs memo to build railways in Nigeria

SOCHI, Oct 23 (PRIME) -- Russian Railways has signed a memorandum of mutual understanding and can participate in construction of railways of Nigeria and in engineering of the railway infrastructure extension, the company said in a statement on Wednesday.

“As follows from the memorandum, Russian Railways will define the amount of its participation in the offered projects in Nigeria, in particular, in the Coastal Line project between Lagos and Calabar and a project of the railway Port Harcourt–Maiduguri, depending on the technical and staff possibilities,” the company said.

The document also allows the sides to initiate the cooperation in other areas.
